

Julie was born in July 31, 1950 in Colorado City to Bill and Gloria Erwin. She attended Colorado ISD graduating with the Class of 1968. She began her career in the oilfield working for Mobil Oil. She also began attending college so Mobil would pay for it. Smart cookie!
She lived everywhere along the Gulf Coast while working for Mobil and finally got her degree from Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama. She eventually became a contractor for ConocoPhillips. She met many friends in the oilfield and she cherished those friendships.
After retirement, Julie began her volunteer career. She ran the Wallace Senior Citizens Center for several years, was an ambassodor fo the Chamber of Commerce, attending many ribbons cuttings, was on the Museum Board, a member and past president of the Lions Club, and was named Citizen of the Year in 2022. Julie also delivered commodities to those in need.
Julie had a big heart and enjoyed using her since of humor to make others laugh because she loved to laugh herself. Julie’s glass was always overflowing. She wanted to make other people’s lives easier while having a good time doing it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Gloria; her older sister, Amelia and her lifelong partner Robin Chomout. Left behind is her sister, Melanie; her niece and nephew, Holly Walker and Mark Walker; three great nieces, Casey, Sydni and Jaymi; and Casey’s daughter, Blakelyn and Sydni’s baby boy, Madden.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 18, at 11:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Colorado City. Arrangements are under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
