Lawanda “Jean” Lindsey, 75, of Colorado City passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Abilene Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 6, 1940 in Rotan, Texas the daughter of Loyd and Lucille Boen Armstrong and has lived in the area her entire life.
Jean spent a little time working as the owner of the Westbrook Shamrock in the 1980’s but preferred being a stay at home mom and wife. In her spare time she could be seen keeping her home in order, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, or spending time with her beloved dogs.
Jean is survived by her husband Tommy Lindsey whom she married on December 12, 1976 in Roby, by a daughter Rhonda Bennett and her husband Randy of Colorado City, and by her sister Marsha Smith and husband Alvin of Roby. Also surviving is 1 grandson Tanner Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her son Richie Carter.
A memorial service for Lawanda will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am with her brother-in-law Johnny Lindsey officiating.
