Monica Chavez was born to Gregorio Navarro and Maria de Leon Trevino on May 4, 1925, in Los Alamos, Texas. She was the last of seven children having passed from this earth on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She married Trinidad Chavez, Sr. (her soldado) the love of her life, in 1946 after his return from Europe having served his country during WWII. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1996. Monica entered the work force at age 13 and held numerous jobs. The job she most loved was as a private care giver because she loved caring for the elderly. She retired from her job at age 92 because of a broken arm which hindered her ability to do her job. Monica loved piecing and embroidering quilts in her spare time and many of her children and/or grandchildren enjoy those quilts she lovingly sewed. She was a very good seamstress; loved doing yardwork and enjoyed her flowers and plants. Monica is survived by one son, Trinidad Chavez, Jr. of Colorado City; five daughters, Janie Garcia of Colorado City, Irene (Domingo) Rosas of Midland, Diana Finley (Landus) of Colorado City, Anita Weatherford (Mark) of Hot Springs, AR, and Veronica Parham of Colorado City. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Alejandro Chavez II, Maria Chavez, Liza Jo Coker, Amber Shy, Ryan Gordon, Nikki Reeves, Andrea Mercer, Stacy Parham, Jean Mae Martinez, Monica Garcia, Jaime Garcia, Patricia Lawrence, Christabel Lenzi, Alyssa Cain, Michael Finley, Joshua Gilbrech, Jennifer Shelby, Angela Martinez, Ronnie Parham, Jr. , Joseph Parham, and Christopher Parham; as well as, 54 great-grandchildren and six great-great-great-grandchildren. Monica was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Maria de Leon; her husband Trinidad Chavez, Sr.; six brothers and sisters; three children, Alejandro Chavez, Ralph Chavez, and Carol Parham; and grandson John Anthony Rodriguez. The family welcomes friends for visitation on Wednesday, from 6-8 PM at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 1st at the Loraine Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Goodnight officiating. Those wishing may leave online condolences at www.kikerseale.com

Ms. Monica had the Most Beautiful and Serene Smile❤️ She made wonderful Tamales 🫔 at Christmas. For as long as we raised pigs each year in November, we would have 2 slaughtered and processed. The heads belonged to Ms.Monica. We always shared sausage with her as as well. She liked our sausage, but those hogsheads for her tamales made you think you had shared a Million Dollars with her. God Bless each family member with Peace, Grace and Blessings .
