Mary Lou Alvidrez was a woman of much love, kindness, and faith. She overcame many hardships and challenges as a child and young adult, but no one would ever know that because she did not live her life as a victim, or bitter or even sad…..she lived with intention, determination, and a deep love for family and God. Her faith saw her through life and it is evident in the life she led. Mary Lou was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an encourager and a peacemaker. Her laugh could rock your soul, her hugs could melt the anxious thoughts and her gentle kiss could lift even the heaviest burden.
Mary Lou could sew anything, pattern or no pattern, she could cook anything, and had a home remedy for all ailments; few of them worked but that did not stop her ability to convince you that they would most certainly cure you. She has closets filled with any and all of life’s necessities. Just ask. She could pull stuff out of closets like a magician. No one went without in her home even if that meant 6 cans of water to every 1 can of orange juice. She was thrifty but not cheap, she knew how to get the most out of everything she had. Everyone was welcome in her heart and her home. She lived the great conviction and through her life she taught us how to live as well.
She is survived by her Husband Tony, her daughters Irma, Mary Lou, Yolanda and her sons John, David and Mark. She had 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. As well as five sisters and 5 brothers.
