She was born in Loraine Texas to Murray and Vera Woods Carpenter on September 1, 1928.
Mildred was a fun spirited woman who loved God and family with all of her heart. She was a graduate of the Loraine ISD and worked for many years as the Loraine Tax Collector. She attended church for many years in Loraine on Smiley Street before moving to the 22nd and Austin Church of Christ which she was a long time member of. Mildred was an independent woman who enjoyed working with her hands, especially outdoors in her yard. Mildred was all about her family, when she was not doing something in her yard she would be doing something with her children or grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and cooking, all of which her family knew her to be an expert at. Mildred also enjoyed traveling with family or having them over at the house, she especially loved her family trips to Ruidoso every year, and getting into an intense game of Liverpool Rummy which she some-how always seemed to win.
Mildred is survived by her son Mike Lee and wife Melinda of Midland and by daughters Sandy Dickard and husband Leon of Colorado City, Jeanette McGowan of Colorado City , and Debbie Warren and her boyfriend Tony Resio of Fort Worth. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joni, Kendra, Mindy, Shawn, and Lindsey, and by great-grandchildren Joshua, Chance, and Ethan.
