

Mr. Nicholas “Nick” Hanks, age 23, of Bastrop, TX, died Sunday morning in a San Angelo hospital. Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in the 22nd & Austin Streets Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Nick was born June 19, 1990 in San Angelo to “Squeeky” and Sherry Stinson Hanks. He was an assistant construction superintendent and attended the Church of Christ.
We share fond memories of Nick’s adventures. From an early age, Nick was FEARLESS. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and arrow head hunting. Pa Pa Bill was always Nick’s mentor and #1 hunting partner.
Nick was also an avid sky-diver, having his first tandem jump at the age of 13 and had made almost 200 jumps in all. Nick was full-throttle, living in the moment, and making every day count.
He is survived by his parents: Sherry and Brent Berry of Bastrop and “Squeeky” Hanks of Colorado City; his maternal grandparents, Billy and Glenda Stinson of Colorado City; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Hanks of Colorado City; sisters, Lauren Hanks and fiancé, Max Walters of San Antonio and Leea Berry of Bastrop; brothers, Tristan Hanks of Colorado City, Brien Berry of Cedar Park , George Butcher of Midland, and John Berry of Houston; an aunt, Beth Ponsetti of San Angelo; uncles: Joe and wife, Allison Stinson of Colorado City and Griff and wife, Beverly Hanks of San Angelo, Steve Ponsetti of San Angelo; cousins Derek Ponsetti , Dylan Ponsetti, Stevie Ponsetti, Kristi Wright and husband Stacy, Coby Stinson, Courtney Stinson and Leslie Morgan; and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather. Gene Hanks.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
