

Mrs. Nora Massingill, age 95, of Colorado City, died Saturday in a San Angelo care center. Services will be at 3 PM Tuesday in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with Richard Levesque officiating. Burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Massingill was born June 29, 1918 in Coryell County, Texas to Robert and Melissa Bush Moore and had been a resident of Mitchell County since 1956. She married Travis J. Masssingill on September 9, 1933 in Gatesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah’s Witness religious community in Colorado City. She is much loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a daughter, “Boogie” Edna Ruth Thurman of Colorado City; 2 sons: Travis Dale Massingill of Colorado City and Melvin Jaye Massingill of San Angelo; 22 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 5 children: Doyle Weldon Massingill, David Kenneth Massingill, Don Roscoe Massingill, Howard Albert Massingill and Tina Joan Turner; 2 brothers: T. J. and Robert; and by 7 sisters: Minnie, Zadie, Lilly Bell, Myrtle, Dora, Bill and Jewell.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
