Otly Carl Watkins

Carl Watkins ”Pump Doctor”, age 78, died Monday, October 27, 2014, at his residence. Services will be at 11 AM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the First Assembly of God in Colorado City with Rev. Mike Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Carl was born April 3, 1936 in Westbrook, Texas to Van and Mable Dodson Watkins. He married Dorothy Young on September 6, 1958 in Mitchell County. He started working on water wells at the age of 16 and continued to the present, a total of 62 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Colorado City.

Carl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Watkins of Colorado City; a daughter, Lisa and husband, Steve Rich of Colorado City; two sons: Wally and wife, Tammy Watkins and Lloyd Watkins, all of Colorado City; a brother, Arthur Watkins of Colorado City; two sisters: Susie Moses of El Paso and Lela Cecil of Florida; 6 grandchildren: Sherri and husband, Jason Lieb, Misty and husband, Tim Lee, Kimberly Watkins, James Watkins, Mary Beth and husband, Dustin Sanchez, Brandi and husband, Chris Flannagan; 13 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Willie Mae Barr, Mary Kathrine Reynolds and Hattie Lee Thorp; two brothers, William John Watkins and Leonard Van Watkins.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
