Patrick Partin, 61, Colorado City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 13, 2020 at his home. He was born in Fort Worth Texas on September 25, 1959 to Maurice and Mary Bernadene Stodghill Partin. Patrick was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City who believed in his love for Christ, his love for family. Patrick was a man with a big heart, who truly believed that all children deserved a proper education. Through his many years as a teacher he was seen as an excellent educator, and he knew that he changed the paths of many of his students. Patrick could come across as a bit outspoken and stubborn, maybe even a bit wild, but he had a heart of a teddy bear and you always knew where you stood with him. If he loved you, it was a sincere love and you knew it because he would do anything for you. Patrick will be missed by all who loved him, but the many lessons he taught will be cherished by many. When not working at the school Patrick could be seen ranching, or out hunting or fishing, as he loved being outdoors. Patrick was also a huge gun enthusiast. He also enjoyed cooking, having a glass of wine or two with a good cigar, and eating a well cooked meal. Patrick was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the Texas State Rifle Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Patrick is survived by his wife Dana Partin of Colorado City, by his daughter Keri Lovell and husband Blake of Midland, by a grandchild Kamden Lovell and by a sister Amy Peck of Divide Colorado. He is also survived by his father-in-law Bill Schuster of Denver City, by a brother-in-law Gary Schuster and wife Beatrice of Gallup N.M, and by his fur babies Remi, Mauri, Carlos, and Pedro. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his mother-in-law Diane Schuster. A funeral service for Patrick will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City with Rev. Donald Ward officiating, interment will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18th from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City. Those wishing are encouraged to share a memory by visiting www.kikerseale.com

I will always remember Mr. Partin with gratitude and affection. Through his guitar class at Alamo Elementary in Odessa, Tx way back in 1992, I acquired my first guitar, learned my first chords on the guitar and the basics of music. Because of that foundation I was able to continue learning and have been able to play different styles of music with different groups ranging from mariachi, trio, and norteño. And now I am also teaching my kids music and guitar, which is priceless.
Mr. Partin was very kind, encouraging, and definitely had the gift of knowing how to teach. I was able to get a peak of the local music scene
by field trips he organized to Mainstream Music Store and attending some rehearsals with his band Black Gold. I really adimired him as a teacher, a musician, but most importantly as a person, he became my friend ... through him I also met Jose Samaniego and los Jinetes, which have become life long friends.
His influence in my life although it was at a very early age has been tremendous and I will always be grateful...
To Mrs. Partin and all Mr. Partin’s family: my condolences , may God give you strength and comfort.
To Mr. Partin, where ever you are, flying high, in heaven, in the presence of God: Thank you!

Patrick was a great mentor when I moved to Texas and taught alongside him. Many great memories including those items he handed down to me upon his retirement in 2013. We had great times during lunch and other times around my tenure at CCity High. Dana and family, he will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on. He was a great friend and mentor and will never be forgotten. Prayers are with you all!

I am so very sorry to read of Patrick’s passing. We grew up together and also attended Kermit Community Church with our families. Along with many fond memories, I also have birthday party photos of little Patrick at my dining table. I remember being quite upset in kindergarten because he kept pulling my hair. Our kindergarten teacher, Jean Adams, assured me it was because he liked me instead of being mean. And indeed we remains friends all through school.

I had heard from several that he was an amazing educator, following in Bernadene’s footsteps. What a wonderful choice of profession. The last time we spoke I recall he had enjoyed a hunting weekend. He was witty, direct and fiercely loved his family.

May your precious memories bring you warmth and comfort in the days, weeks, months and years to follow. My deepest condolences.

Dana I don’t even know where to begin. Pat was such an inspiration to so many students and faculty that worked with him. I cherished our chats and always looked forward to the next one....which was usually some sort of interesting medical topic but yet he would always surprise me! Praying for happy memories and love for you.

Dana,
I just read that you lost Pat last week. My heart aches for you but I know how he loved you. Even though it wasn't too often when we talked he would mention whatever you and he were working on and how the homestead was looking. His friendship meant a lot to me especially at a time when we were both making our way through the challenges at Cibolo. I always called him 'Cowboy' and remember many great times and stories in West Texas. Prayers for you all during this difficult time. His memory will live on with me and many stories I continue to tell to anyone who will listen. Love and a hug from Indiana.

All the fond memories of feeding goats, shooting guns, and the comments only Pat could give and still make you smile! He will be missed, I’m sorry work has occupied so much of my time and I haven’t been by to visit in a long time. As Nathan said, “ I’ll sure miss the ranch.” We will miss Pat and Dana and all the Fun times and learning about the animals. Pat was one in a million and loved to teach off campus and on. Rest easy my friend, you will be missed.
