Rebecca “Becky” DelReal, 73, Colorado City, passed away at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo with her loving family by her side. She was born in Big Spring on August 19, 1945 to Henry Russell and Velta Inez Poston Bird. Becky was known to the people in the area as Becky the Nail Lady, and many in the area were a recipient of some of the beautiful works of art that she created on their nails. Becky was a very spirited woman, full of spunk, with a bubbly happy personality. She was a long standing member of Christian Fellowship Church and had a very strong faith in God. She loved to talk to people, but if you said something that wasn’t right you would see her feisty side because she was strong in her convictions and knew how to stand her ground. She was also a woman with love to spare, not only did she spend time raising her own children, she also took in many cousins, and friends. In her spare time Becky enjoyed going out to visit friends, talking to people on the phone, and painting pictures. Becky is survived by her sons David Blauvelt and wife Joy of Midland and Doug Blauvelt of Big Spring, by her grandchildren Lecy Hobbs and Laura Chaney, and by several step-children and step-grandchildren, as well as by a brother Bill Bird and wife Ann of San Angelo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John DelReal, by her brothers Henry Russell Bird Jr and Donald Butch Bird, and by her sisters Betty Messemer and Joy Thompson. A funeral service for Becky will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 10 am at Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Larry Chaney officiating, burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation at Kiker Seale Funeral Home on Monday, May 27th from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions in Becky’s name to wtcmhmr.org or make checks payable to West Texas Centers and mail to West Texas Centers 409 Runnels, Big Spring Tx 79720. Loved this lady. Never saw her or talked to her that she wasn’t smiling and laughing. One of the most down to earth ladies I’ve ever known. I will see her again someday and maybe slow down enough to just talk and laugh.

Becky was always trying to do physical therapy and that is how I met her. She was always worrying about her sick son! She showed such love to me for being the caregiver for my mom. She knew how much you give when serving a family member! She will be missed!

I first met Becky when she volunteered to help me with Children’s Church! Later she put her charm on my nails. Becky’s laugh always encouraged and brought a smile to me. She knew how to pray and she would stop and do that with no thought . Recently we reminisced on the phone , talked politics, tried to fix the world and prayed together before we hung up. I will miss you Becky but I know you have received your anticipated reward and you are cheering us on and oh are you praying and interceding to the Father for us all! Probably you AND Claudine are discussing and rejoicing together! Will think of you often!

Becky and I were in the same class at Westbrook, Tx. , class of 1963. We had 13 in our graduating class. Becky was a great basketball player. Our senior year, she broke her jaw and our coach, Mr. Parsons told my dad ,who was principal at the time, that he was going to start me in a game coming up. I wish that my dad hadn’t told me because I was scared to death. Also I couldn’t even start to feel her shoes. She was a neighbor for a while and a friend forever. She will be missed. God bless her!

Lovingly known as Becky, she always had a smile and was quick to pray for anyone. There is no doubt in my mind that she is at rest and it is a sweet peaceful rest.

Aside from working together a few years, on our days off, either shopping trips or going to the lake and laying out in the sun, we had so many wonderful good times together including sharing a room at Christ For The Nations. Becky was always happy, always laughing, and always praising the Lord. We were like sisters. Her friendship to me was a gift from God. I have wonderful precious memories until we meet again. ❤️❤️❤️
