Our hearts go out to the Thackerson family during this difficult time. While we never knew Rex well, his obvious influence on Matt, one of our favorite students, showed the kind of man he was. Mary, thank you for all the help and friendship you gave us at CHS. Y’all are in our prayers.
Peace to you,
“Mr. & Mrs. V”

Rex was the most friendly ,outgoing and wonderful man . I worked with him for years at the cable office, it changed owners 3 times while working there. He loved to talk and had lots of funny stories . I met most of his wonderful family during that time. Rex never met a stranger. Prayers go out to each and everyone of his family members. He will be missed but he will be forever in your hearts and lots of memories. ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼

Rex was a good friend, part-time boss, and always a mentor in our days in Whitewright. Rex was there for us when Jeff and I needed him, and helped us grow up. I regret not keeping in touch more. God Bless, God Speed. Prayers for all.

Dear Sweet Rex,

"I've got one more story to tell you then I've gotta go". About 5 stories later and a big hug, you would say well I need to go. Then 3 stories later our belly's hurting from laughter you would say "See you later". Well my friend I will see you later when you and my precious Lord welcome me home. I will miss you 'til then. Love ya man!!!

My heart breaks for you, Mary, Jami and Matt. Some of the best times in years past was listening and laughing so hard with Rex. Of course, we had some serious conversations as well. I will always cherish Rex, Mary, and especially Jami. God, wrap your arms around this beautiful family. Rex, rest in peace!

Rex you were definitely one of a kind!! I will forever remember your humor, especially during stretch and flex in the mornings. You never took yourself too seriously, always acknowledged a job well done, and knew how to make people feel special. To Mary, Matt and Jami I would like to say I am so sorry! I thank you all for the happiness you put in Rex's life. He was proud of all of you!! He raved about his family always. May the Lord wrap his arms around you all during this difficult time.
