Beto was born on June 20, 1955 in Colorado City to Benito and Magdalena Gonzalez.
Beto was a quiet hard working man who lived for his family. He was a graduate of Colorado High School and worked in the area as a farmer and a welder for several companies. As a father he was exceptional, and no words could be used to describe that bond, but after his daughter grew up and had a child of her own he lived for his grandson and shared an even stronger bond with him. Beto was truly a jack of all trades, he could work the land with the best of them, knew his way around a welder, and spent his spare time building crosses out of both concrete and wood, or tinkering on his cars or Harleys. He was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church of Colorado City and an avid pet lover, especially his cats and dogs.
Beto is survived by his daughter Kimberly Gonzalez and husband David of Big Spring and their r son David Gonzalez Jr, by his brother Antonio Gonzalez of Colorado City, and by his 3 sisters Velia Vasquez of Colorado City, Sylvia Sanford and husband Alvie Stephens of Colorado City, and Yolanda Stafford and husband Omego of Buffalo NY. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Manuel Montemayor and by his sisters Magdalena Serna, Maria Montemayor, and Chonita Gonzalez.
A graveside service for Beto will be held at a later date in the Mitchell County Cemetery of Colorado City.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
