Rosa Garcia

She was born on June 29, 1944, in Del Rio, Texas to Jose and Nicolasa Guerra Garcia.

Rosa was a loving aunt and great aunt who loved to be with her family. She was dedicated to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a devout Catholic who consistently prayed for her family and friends. Before she got sick many people in Loraine would see her walking her fur-baby Lobo up and down the streets, he was her world, and she was his as they spent most of their time together. Through out her life she was a very hard worker, having worked many jobs. In her spare time she prided herself in being a great aunt who was fun to be around especially when she cooked up some of her homemade cookies or tortillas. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She will be dearly missed and remembered fondly.

Rosa is survived by her fur-baby Lobo, a brother Joe Garcia of Lamesa, and by her nieces and nephews; Maria Mendez and husband Joe of Sweetwater, Teresa Bailey and husband Ricky of Loraine, Alicia Lopez of Colorado City, Cristina Morris and husband Cory of Colorado City, David Lopez of Colorado City, Lydia Lopez of Colorado City, Beatrix Lopez of Sweetwater, Freddie Lopez and wife Sara of Abilene, Rosa Lopez of Loraine, Frank Garcia Jr. and wife Laura of Loraine, Marcos Garcia and wife Esmeralda of Colorado City, Adrian Garcia and wife Magin of Midland, Letisia Lopez and husband Chris of San Angelo, Angelic Garcia of San Angelo, and Michelle Bolin of San Angelo. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews and by several friends who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Nicolasa Garcia, a brother Frank Garcia Sr., 2 sisters Anita Lopez and Juanita Garcia, a brother-in-law Manuel Lopez Sr., and by 2 nephews Manuel Lopez Jr, and David Bolin.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosa will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd at 2 pm at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loraine with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating with burial following in the Loraine Cemetery. The family will be present for a visitation in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 21st from 5-7 pm with a rosary to follow at 7 pm.

Serving as pallbearers are David Lopez, Freddie Lopez, Frankie Garcia, Marcos Garcia, Ricky Bailey, Joe Mendez with Adrian Garcia and Cory Morris serving as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a donation in her memory to Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loraine.
