It is with a heavy heart but very fond memories that I write this. Growing up in the 50’s & 60’s in Colorado City was probably one of the best times of my life. Sammy was a close friend playing baseball, spending time at his home with his great family. We often spend time fishing & playing on the bluffs down on Colorado River. After my family moved away I didn’t see Sammy for years, but 10 years or so ago I went back to Colorado City looking around to find Sammy. I finally located him sitting on the tailgate of his truck watching a baseball game at the same field we played on so many years before. Even after not seeing each other for years we picked up just like I had always been there. Such a great friend to have known. You will be missed but never forgotten..RIP ...

I’ve known Sam most of my life. We went to church together. We would always sit on the back rows during church and we went to high school together also. When my dad sold the house I grew up in, Sam bought it. I am blessed to have known Sam and called him my friend. He was always kind to everyone. He also loved his Lord, family and friends. You will be greatly missed but your with your Heavenly Father with no more pain. Loved you my friend. Prayers for the family during this difficult time.

Sam was in my life briefly when I was freshman at Colorado City high school he was a senior. The brief time I knew him he made a favorable and lasting impression on me because of his demeanor. He was always kind and his love of making me laugh was continual. Sam was a good man. RIP my friend.
