He was born in Bridgeport, Texas to Billy Don and Linda Badger Cansler on May 20, 1950.
Buzz was the type of man who you had to get to know to appreciate, but once you did you would see he was a heartwarming man despite his gruff exterior. His younger years showed how deeply he cared for family as he helped to care for his siblings over the years and was there as a father figure for many of those years. After high school Buzz joined the Navy where he honorably served his country for 8 years. After his time in the Navy Buzz worked a few odd jobs until settling into the Merchant Marines for 10 years, before driving truck until he retired. After retiring Buzz showed how big his heart is by volunteering for the Texas Health and Human Services Department in Abilene in their Foster Grandparents Program. Buzz led his life how he wanted, loved a lot, traveled often, and would give you the shirt off his own back if you needed it, he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Buzz is survived by his mother Linda Miller of Colorado City, by a son Mariano Cansler of Petersburg Florida, by a granddaughter, by 2 brothers Woody Cansler and Sammy Cansler of Colorado City, and by a sister Lisha Cansler Sanford and husband Keith of Weatherford. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
As per Buzz’s request there will be no formal services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
