Ann-Marie was born January 18, 1968, in Miami, FL, to William Augustus Broome and Kathleen Marie Indihar. She graduated from Spring Valley High School. She went on to graduate from Columbia College with a B.S. in chemistry, biology, and mathematics. She received her doctoral degree in biomedical sciences from the University of South Carolina. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. She also received her M.B.A. from Weatherhead School of Management in Bioscience Entrepreneurship and in Healthcare Management Systems.
Ann-Marie loved traveling and enjoyed many trips throughout the U.S. and Europe. She loved spending time with her family and friends, skiing, collecting art, doing crafts, and was an avid reader. She was a die-hard Gamecocks supporter and went to all their games home or away, and was one who actually stayed until the end of the game no matter the outcome. She also loved to attend the Camden horse races and was an annual ticket holder for both the Colonial Cup and the Carolina Cup. She also recently acquired two beautiful Borzois, Koshka and Souva, both of whom she loved dearly.
Surviving are her brother, Kelley Joseph Broome; sister, Amber Leigh Ott (Bondy Ott); nieces, Ashleigh Taylor Phillips (Christopher Phillips) and Autumn Marie Ott; nephew, Richard Colyn Ott; great-niece and nephew, Camden Ryder and Brayleigh Marie Phillips; uncle and aunt, Michael and Luana Indihar and cousin, Dionne Indihar.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Kittiwake Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
