

Ann was a graduate of Dillon High School and attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia. Growing up in Dillon, she was proud of her family history as owners and operators of one of the first Coca-Cola bottling plants in South Carolina. Ann and her late husband, Roy Clifford Sawyer were married for sixty-nine years. They enjoyed many years together in both the Columbia and Murrells Inlet areas of South Carolina. In later years Roy and Ann loved traveling the world together. Ann especially enjoyed a trip to Scotland home of her MacDonald Scottish heritage. Roy, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the focus of Ann’s life. She was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her family and faith. Ann was a member of numerous Women’s garden, and bridge clubs. She was a faithful member of Northeast Presbyterian Church, serving on multiple church committees and enjoyed women's ministries and decorating the church.
Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Trippe (Paul), sons, Val Sawyer (Betsy) and Mike Sawyer (Sharon) of Columbia and Scott Sawyer (Rhonda) of Georgetown, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, Mac Sawyer, Bishop Sawyer (Rachel), Landon Sawyer, Preston Trippe (Julia), Dr. Allie Trippe Barnes (Blake), Lauren Sawyer Foster (Cantzon), Meredith Sawyer Walker (Stevens), Ross Sawyer, Kelsey Sawyer Carter (Ben), Laurel Sawyer; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister Nina Osteen Stuckey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Roy Clifford Sawyer; grandson, Cole Sawyer; daughter-in-law, Stacy Sawyer; and sister Valerie Osteen Guy.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wildewood Downs Skilled Nursing and Amedisys Hospice Care.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
