Arthur Lowder Folk

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Arthur Lowder “Artie” Folk, 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will take place in Bamberg County Memory Gardens at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Folk died Thursday, May 5, 2016, after an extended illness. Born in Orangeburg, he was a son of the late George William Folk, Sr. and Doris Elaine Lowder Folk. Mr. Folk graduated from Bamberg High School in 1969 and attended USC. He retired as Senior Business Consultant of Policy Management Systems Corporation. Mr. Folk was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Surviving are his brothers, George William “Billy” Folk, Jr. (Joyce) of Cordova, SC, Eddie Malcolm Folk (Victoria) of Bamberg, SC, and Tony Herman Folk (Dicksi) of St. George, SC; sister, Karen Folk Herndon (Larry) of Ehrhardt, SC; nieces and nephews, Daniel D. Folk (Angel), Rachel E. Folk, Sarah Herndon Terry (Josh), Hank Herndon, Corey Herndon and Tori Bunch; and three great nephews and one great niece. He was predeceased by his partner, David Ray.
