

Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Lebanon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private family burial will be held in the church cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Barbara was born October 24, 1933 in Gray, Ga. to Barnie Allen and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Jones Jordan. She was a graduate of Lower Richland High School and the University of South Carolina. Barbara was an elementary school teacher at several schools, including Horrell Hill Elementary and Bellwood Elementary in Eastover. She was a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, “May I” Card Club,
Lykesland Book Club and the Goldenrod Garden Club. Barbara enjoyed game shows and playing cards but most importantly she loved her family and spending time with her friends and neighbors. She will be remembered for her uplifting, optimistic personality and reliable wit.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hampton Seebert Alford Sr. and two brothers, Barnie Allen Jordan Jr. and John Robert Jordan Sr. Survivors include children, Laurie Fuller (Duane), Molly Thomas (Jim), Dr. Hank Alford (Elizabeth), Barbara “Beezie” Fleming (Barry Jurs); nine grandchildren, Anna Lewis (Sean), Callie West (Jordan), Mary Grace Terry (Alec), Hamp Alford, Eddie Alford, Samuel Alford, Arthur Fuller, Robbie Fleming, Jack Fleming; two great-grandchildren, Stella Lewis, Preston West; a brother, David Jordan (Jan); and sister-in-law, Kay Jordan.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Martha Parker-Hester and to Tina Kellett and Melissa Kelly from RetireEase Senior Service for their friendship and care.
