Born August 27, 1942, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Benjamin Wakefield and Mary Graham Wall Kirby. He attended Jacksonville School of Electronic and graduated with the highest grade. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and majored in air conditioning and heating. He owned Kirby’s Poultry and Air Conditioner Company and was very talented in repairing anything.
Surviving are his brother, Graham Kirby of Sanford, N.C.; sisters, Mary Steen Sisk (Charles E. Sisk) of Columbia and Dorothy Sturkie of Greenville. He had six nephews and nieces who loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
