Born on September 27, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Jacob Freedman and Tillie Mendelson Freedman. At the age of 20, he moved with his parents from Baltimore to Cheraw, SC.
Carl served in the Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He graduated from The University of South Carolina with a BA in Science, and Loyola Dental School in Chicago, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega fraternity, and Blue Key National Honor Society. Carl was a most beloved dentist in Columbia from 1962 until 2008.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi Lee Freedman (née Goldberg), his sister-in-law, Helene Pasternak, and his nephew, Paul Pasternak.
Services will be held at The Tree of Life Temple on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Freedman will be sitting shiva at her home through Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be made to Beth Shalom Synagogue or The Tree of Life Temple.
