Carolyn Hayden Blalock

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Carolyn Hayden Blalock, 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, with a reception following the service in the church parlor. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Blalock, widow of Mr. Jack S. Blalock, Sr., passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Born in Greenville, S.C. on November 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Claude G. Hayden and Vivian Calhoun Hayden.

Carolyn was a graduate of Queens College in Charlotte, N.C. She was retired from Northwestern Mutual Insurance as the office manager and later worked at the Richland County Tennis Center. She enjoyed gardening and tennis, and was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her sons, Jack S. Blalock, Jr. and Tom H. Blalock both of Columbia; grandchildren, Jack S. Blalock III and Hayden Marie Blalock; and brother, Thomas D. Hayden (Martha) of Newnan, Ga.
