

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Charles Legree Dyson, Jr., 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Williston Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Dyson died Saturday, March 19, 2016. Born in Augusta, Ga. and raised in Williston, SC, he was a son of the late Charles Legree Dyson, Sr. and Edna Huggins Dyson. He served in the Vietnam War as 1st Battalion, 4th Marines division/Dog Handler in the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from a long career in commercial real estate. Mr. Dyson was a member of the Palmetto Shag Club and the Columbia Shag Club. Surviving are his daughter, Leigh Ann Watts; grandsons, Copeland and Dyson Watts; daughter, Tammy Roach (Timothy); brother, Jimmy Dyson (Sherrie); nieces, Rhonda Toole (Dale) and Lisa Massengale (Robbie); significant other, Bonnie Watts Krystofer; and mother of his daughters, Diane Best Still.
