
WEST COLUMBIA Charlotte Samples Baker, 99, passed away at Still Hopes in West Columbia Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born April 8, 1922 to the late Carl Hamilton and Hazel Thrasher Samples in the small town of Dunloop, WVa. She was predeceased by her husband, Kemper W. Baker and her brother, Jack Samples. Charlotte is survived by her son, Kemper W. Baker Jr. (Bev) of Powhatan, Va.; daughter, Susan Baker DeWitt (Mike) of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren, Kemper W. Baker III of Fayetteville, N.C., Kimberly DeWitt Willis (Tim) of Gilbert, S.C., Michael R. DeWitt Jr. of Columbia; great-granddaughter, Hailee Michelle Willis; and brother, William Read Samples of Pittsburgh, Penn.
It is impossible to individually thank all who have touched our Mom’s life throughout her twenty years at Still Hopes. It is also impossible to properly thank Heart of Hospice for all their care and support. While words are inadequate to express our feelings, please know we appreciate everyone for everything.
