Cheryl Culbertson Figueroa

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Memorial services for Cheryl Culbertson Figueroa will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel in Columbia, SC, with Cubby Culbertson officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Figueroa, wife of Dr. Felix Figueroa died November 7, 2023. Cheryl, born in Tryon, NC, was preceded in death by her parents Charles Boyd Culbertson and Frances Smith Culbertson of Columbia; mother in law, Graciela Mendez-Garcia of Bayamon, PR.

She was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Cheryl worked in the banking and mortgage industry until her early retirement in 2001. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren, and grand dogs as “Mimi.” Mrs. Figueroa was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her husband of 23 years; daughters, Lauren Dianne Culpepper and Ashley Danielle Culpepper of Columbia; six grandchildren, Savannah Elise Busby, Kyla Marie Busby, Dylan Charles Busby, Ashton Daniel Culpepper, Sophia Annabella Culpepper, and Alexander Boyd Culpepper of Columbia; step-daughter, Stacey Figueroa Heilman and her husband, David of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and stepsons, Trey Figueroa of Raleigh, NC; and Dr. Robert Figueroa and his wife CJ of Mooresville, NC; Four step grandchildren, Cameron Grayson Figueroa and Madeline Harper Figueroa of Mooresville, NC; Hudson James Heilman and Bennett Rin Heilman of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister Kimberly Cleveland Porter and her husband Mike; brother-in-law, Charlie Figueroa and his wife, Janet; sisters-in-law, Gladys Figueroa of Orlando, FL; Evette Figueroa and her husband Fernando, and Minerva Figueroa of Bayamon, PR; Graciela Figueroa and her husband Jose of Toa Baja, PR; and Tanya Figueroa and her husband, Alberto of North Bergen, NJ; her loyal dog Lucy and three grand dogs.
