Connie Joe Meador

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Connie Joe Meador, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, with burial in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Meador passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. Born in Hico, Texas, he was a son of the late Charlie Milton Meador and Bethel Lenora Stanley Meador. He served in the US Air Force and was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Joe was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, where he was member of the Lutheran Men. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge – Boyleston Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and gardening when he was able and bird watching, hunting rocks and minerals across the southeastern states and going to gem and mineral shows across the country. He was a longtime member of the Riverbanks Zoo and loved going whenever he could.

Surviving are his daughters, Kim Lentz and Stephanie Hanna (Jimmy); brother-in-law, Jeff Geddings; sister-in-law, Toni Geddings; nieces, Donna Cage, Katelyn Geddings; and nephews, Travis Cage, Matt Geddings (Tiffany).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Geddings Meador; sister, Patsy Lee; brother, Eddie Meador; brothers-in-law, Bruce Lee, James G. “Jimmy” Geddings; sister-in-law, Mary Geddings Davis; and nephew, Roland Lee.
