Daniel Ray Holman

COLUMBIA - Daniel “Danny” Holman, 66, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. A celebration in honor of Danny will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at his home, 3115 Amherst Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205. An additional celebration will be held in Charlotte at a later date. Danny grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended the University of South Carolina, where he was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He worked for many years in the field of short-term investment counseling. Danny is survived by his daughter, Britt Freeman; sister, Judy Harris (Graham); nephew, Matthew Holman; nieces, Whitney Holman and Sarah Harris; many friends who were “family by choice;” and his four-legged “girl,” Annie. To the family of Danny, So saddened to here of Danny's passing. I grew up with Danny in Charlotte. Danny was always so funny. Actually, my brother Tommy Scarborough and I both hung out with Roger and Danny. The Holman family were part of my life growing up. My heartfelt sympathy to all his family. Very sorry to hear about Danny. I was one of his fraternity brothers. He was really a great guy. I lost touch shortly after college. I wish I hadn't. He stayed in Columbia with great plans. Danny was a wonderful man! Britt, he lovingly spoke often of you and how proud you made him. I always enjoyed his visits with Annie and my stash of dog treats just for her. To Danny's family,
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I've seen Danny a few times the in the last month and he beamed talking about Britt and filling us in on his dog. He will be missed. We will pray for your family and friends during this time of grief and working to grasp the suddenness of Danny's passing.

Danny was one of the best and will be missed greatly by many. I always enjoyed my time with him on the phone and when with him. He had so much love for you Britt . You were his pride and joy.
