Danny Preston Woody

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Danny Preston Woody, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Woody passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Born in Lynchburg, VA, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson Woody and Nellie Mae Ripley Woody. Danny served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force. He was an avid Gamecock fan who also loved golf and the outdoors. Danny had a commendable love for animals and all other life in general. In his life he made it a point to always give to those who had less than him. He will be remembered as a very charitable man. His carefree and resilient spirit is something everyone can learn from to implement in their own lives. May he always be remembered for all of the kindness and love he spread throughout his life.

Surviving are his adopted daughter, Autumn Aull; stepson, Brian Jacobs; and niece, India Springs.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Johnnie Faye Butler Woody; stepdaughter, Terri Aull; brother, Andy Woody; and sister, Carolyn Woody Roark.
