COLUMBIA - Diana Scott “Scotty” Hammond died on November 13, 2016 at the age of 72. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Bagley and Emily Brannen, both of Columbia; a sister, Norma Jo Johnson of Dallas, Texas; and six grandchildren. Scotty was born to Norman Scott and Daisy (Myers) Scott and was raised in Spokane, Washington. Following college, she and her husband, George, shared a 30 year career in the United State Air Force where she traveled, raised a family, developed a love for languages and advanced her career as a registered nurse. Following her Air Force life, she continued to practice nursing, most recently as a volunteer and staff member of the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. Scotty will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful friend to many and a dedicated and giving nurse.
