Donald Manning Bryant Sr.

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Donald Manning Bryant Sr., 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 21, 2015, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, with visitation immediately following at the church in the Adult Reception Room. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Bryant passed away peacefully on Sunday October 18, 2015, after losing a battle with cancer. Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Charles Leonard Bryant and Virginia Bennett Bryant. Don was a long time member and volunteer of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. He served as President of Cox, Bryant Advertising and Vice President of Palmetto State Printing. However, his soul was lifted most by dancing with his lifetime love and wife, Sandra B. Bryant. Don was a board member of Beach Shaggers National Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Living Legends Association and served as former President of the South Carolina Shaggers Hall of Fame. He was a gentle, loving soul and will be sorely missed. Don is survived by his wife and true love, Sandra Banks Bryant; his sons, Donald Manning Bryant, Jr. (wife Joy) and Charles Banks Bryant (wife Kim); his son-in-law, John V. Shuford Sr.; and grandsons, John Vickery “Jack” Shuford Jr., Bradley Banks Shuford and Cullen Banks Bryant. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Bryant Shuford. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to The Hall of Fame Foundation, P.O. Box 4070, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29597 and/or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
