Donald Manning Bryant Jr.

COLUMBIA - On Friday, January 3, 2020, Donald Manning Bryant, Jr., loving husband, passed away at age 50.

“Manning” was born on January 5, 1969 in Columbia, SC to Don and Sandra (Banks) Bryant. He was a lifelong resident of Columbia, received his degree from the University of South Carolina in 1992 and married Joy (Robins) Bryant in 1997. He owned and operated Palmetto Printing Company and was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

Manning loved the water and found peace in surfing the waves at Folly Beach and boating on Lake Murray. He enjoyed vacationing with family; attending Carolina games with friends, and he had a special place in his heart for his pets and animals. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Manning was preceded in death by his father, Don and his sister, Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife, Joy; his mother, Sandra Bryant; brother, Banks Bryant; and loving in-laws, and nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Sanctuary of Eastminster Presbyterian Church at 3200 Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29204, immediately followed by a reception in the Adult Reception Hall on the third floor. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Joy, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sorry I can not be there today. I didn't know Manning well. I sat with y'all at the table at the CEOA Christmas party and enjoyed talking with him this year. He was such a gentleman. I was cold and he gave me his jacket to wear during the evening, very sweet.

Joy, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We have all shed many tears.I know it must be very hard to lose your sweet wonderful husband. Manning was special with such a fun wit about him. I know he loved his animals and going to USC games and to the lake, our hearts are broken he left so soon and for you dear Joy.
