Dorothy Shealy Boyd

Dorothy was born on August 8, 1926 to the late Joseph Marion and Alice Epting Shealy of Pomaria, South Carolina. She was married to the late Col. Hugh King Boyd, Jr. in May of 1946. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina followed by an interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A reception for family and friends will be held at the church parlor starting at 1:00 pm.

Dorothy was an avid reader and bridge player and had a love for Ikebana (art of Japanese) flower arranging. She was a member of the Forest Lake Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Trinity Sunday School Class and Circle One.

She is survived by her four children, James Francis Boyd and wife Judy, Hugh King Boyd III and wife Loretta, William David Boyd and wife Marianne, and Alice Boyd Smith and husband Patrick. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was the 9th of 11 children and is survived by one remaining sister, Evelyn Dolittle.
