Ms Dorothy Ella Greer Raven

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Dorothy Ella Greer Raven, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Shandon Baptist Church. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Dawson Family Cemetery, Marietta, Ga. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Ms. Raven died Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born in Atlanta, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Robert Leland Greer and Annie Bell Bryan Greer. She was an active foster parent for dogs with Pawmetto Lifeline, contributed meals for the Ronald McDonald House, proud member of the Columbia DAR Chapter, volunteered at Richland Public Library with the Let’s Speak English Program and an active participant at the Shepherd Center. Ms. Raven was a member of Shandon Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery, was an active member of Mixed Medley Sunday School Class and a longtime volunteer for the International Ministry. Surviving are her children, DeAnne Gray (Wayne) of Sandy Run, Robert Howard Raven of Pawley’s Island, Arthur Brett Raven (Cheryl) of Lexington, Dinah Mary Raven of Columbia, Bryan Randall Raven (Jennifer) of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Zane, Joseph, and Daniel. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Jane Greer Denning.
