

Born in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Plummer Stewart and Harriett Minerva Bingham Stewart. Following high school, where she was her senior year Class Valedictorian, she attended Appalachian State Teachers College. Edna devoted her life to her family. Residing initially in Charlotte, she and her family relocated to Florence, SC where she assisted her second husband, Robert Hulsart, with his business, Carolina Appraisal Associates. She was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. After retirement, Edna moved initially to Myrtle beach and then to Spruce Pine, NC where she enjoyed time with her son, Michael Gallery and daughter-in-law, Cecelia Gallery at their spiritual retreat, “The Quiet Place.” She spent her final years in Columbia, SC at Rice Estate, to be close to her son, George (Pat) Gallery, Jr and daughter-in-law, Melinda Higgs. In addition to time with her family, Edna enjoyed watching sports, traveling abroad, and travelling to the beach and mountains. She believed in staying active and exercised regularly into her late 80s.
Surviving Edna are her son, George Patrick Gallery, Jr (Melinda Higgs) of Columbia, SC; daughters, Harriet Spring of Florence, SC, and Erin Hulsart-Willis; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Ann Lively of Orlando, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, George Patrick Gallery; her second husband, Robert McConomy Hulsart; son, Michael Gallery; granddaughter, Anna Bennett; brothers, John, and James Stewart; sister, Lillian Myers; and son-in-law, Ted Springs.
The family wants to thank the wonderful caregivers and staff at Rice Estate for their compassionate care and assistance.
