Edward Patrick Grady

Edward Patrick Grady of Gaston, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the age of 61. He was born on March 9, 1965 to James Edward Grady and Jane Bridget Grady in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from Lower Richland High School, he went on to Midlands Technical College and received his certification in HVAC. After a brief stint in the Air National Guard as a crew chief, he spent many years at McEntire Joint National Guard Base as an HVAC technician. He furthered his career at SCVOC Rehabilitation and then onto SC Richland one school district.

He was a loving and dedicated girl dad who enjoyed NASCAR, the SC Gamecocks, and meeting up with family and friends weekly at Lucky’s in Cayce. He adored all his fur babies: Maggie, Cleetus, Sadie, Dolly, and his cat, Belvedere. He had a loud and vibrant personality and never met a stranger or missed an opportunity to make everyone laugh.

He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Jude Grady (Chris) and Bridget Amelia Grady (Alex); his wife, Sonya Mitchell and step children, Lacey Clark (Corey), Tyler Mitchell (Jess), and Matt Mitchell; his siblings, Marie Kennedy, Phil Grady (Rene), Jim Grady, Alice Grady (Ken), Patrick Grady, Dorothy Grady (Ralph); his nieces, Lesa Livingston (Mackie), Ashley Fazio (Justin), Brianna Langford, Kelly Harris (Austin); his nephews, Jack Grady (Amanda) and Seamus Grady (Sarah); his grandchildren, Carson, Skylann, Gabe, and his grandpups, Bailey and Shiva.

Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home at 3926 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205 on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM.
