

COLUMBIA – A funeral service for Emily Meek Camp, 96, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St Mark United Methodist Church with Pastor John Adams Officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service at the church. The family will hold a private burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Camp passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. She was born on October 24, 1919 in the Bethel Community of York County, South Carolina. Mrs. Camp was the widow of John F Camp to whom she was married for over sixty-five years until his death in 2006. She was the daughter of the late Francis Alexander and Eulala Boyd Meek. She was preceded in death by her brothers; James Albert Meek and Robert Brice Meek. “Mom” blessed us beyond measure and we are celebrating her exceptional life. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She taught all of those she touched about faith, family, humility, serving others, laughter and enjoying life! She was wise, brave, determined and kind. Just recently, Mom said “I still enjoy life! I am so thankful for my husband, children and grandchildren. I pray for you all every day.” Her legacy is her strong, healthy and loving family. Surviving are her sons; John Francis Camp (Theresa) of Columbia, James Robert Camp (Debbie) of Columbia, Thomas Wayne Camp (Patricia) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Emily Hinson (Greg), Jenny Vickers (Jack), Sally Strader (Todd), Charlie Moore (Mahalie), Kelly Burkett (Michael), Matt Camp (Sealey), Thomas Camp (Sarah), Kristin Gee (Jeff) and great grandchildren, Austin Hinson, Ashlin Hinson, Lochlan Schofield, Caleb Schofield, Taylor Schofield, Lily Vickers, Zach Strader, Sydney Strader, Grant Strader, Mahalie Stuart Moore, Clara Moore, Gus Moore, Porter Burkett, Sophie Burkett, Caroline Camp, Evan Camp, Emma Kate Camp, Charlie Camp, Henry Camp, Annabelle Gee, Wilson Gee and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
