Surrounded by her family, Faye Bairefoot Vogt passed away peacefully on the 22nd of February 2022. She was born in Winnsboro on the 16th of January 1945 to William Lonnie Bairefoot and Myrtis Gresham Bairefoot. As the youngest child, and only daughter, she was adored by her family and her four older brothers. She was a 1963 graduate of Winnsboro High School and after completing training in Columbia, she began work as a surgical technician. She was a beloved member of the Operating Rooms at Baptist Hospital for 33 years.
Faye will be remembered for her sweet nature, with just the right amount of spice to make her eyes sparkle with glee. Her life was built upon the cornerstones of family, faith, and friends. She was blessed with two children, Marc and Lynn, and did everything from sewing costumes for their school pageants to serving as den mother to a troop of boys. Her faith was a constant and a testimony to a life lived well. Faye’s friendships were lifelong and true.
Her interests included her pets, sewing, gardening, reading, going to the beach, and travel. Indeed, on Tuesday evening, she took her last trip to be with The Lord.
She is survived by her son Marc (Cameron) Vogt of Ridgeway; daughter Lynn Vogt Cranford of Columbia; granddaughter Morgan Cranford; grandson Brendan (Allie) Cranford of Lees Summit, Missouri; and brother W.T. Bairefoot of Blackstock; along with a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clarence, Spencer, and Larry; and her husband William Vogt.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Faye’s team of therapists at NHC and The Palmettos at Parklane.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
