IRMO Funeral service for Hideko "Heidi" Tachibana Evett, 84, who passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Heidi was born February 15, 1934, in Kummamoto, Japan to Sange Tachibana and Kaso Yamaguchi. She was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Columbia Japanese Bible Study Group.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Levi Evett, Jr., and a son, Kenny Evett. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Paul (Pete); a son, Ronnie Evett (Joanne); three grandchildren, Brittany Austin (Kirk), Heather Sharpe (Marion), Erica Springer and seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Aria, Paige, Kane, Levi, Colton, and Baby Sharpe that is on the way.
Memorials in Mrs. Evett’s honor may be made to Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2659 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
