Iris Josephine Cundiff Harley

Graveside service for Dr. Iris Jo Cundiff Harley, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Harley will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel is assisting the family.

Dr. Harley passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. Born in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Grady and Helen Link Cundiff. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Iris Jo was a graduate of Mars Hill College, Hollins University, The University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University. She was the Choral Director at Irmo High School for 25 years until her retirement and also retired from Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church as organist in August 2014, following 36 years of service.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rev. Raymond E. Harley, II.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma C. Wilbourne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 St. John’s Road, Irmo, SC 29063.
