Jack Lloyd Kilgore Sr.

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Jack Lloyd Kilgore, 88, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mr. Kilgore died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at home with his beloved family by his side. Jack was born April 18, 1927 at home in Iva, SC. He graduated high school from Boys High School and earned his degrees from Anderson University (formerly Anderson College) and the University of South Carolina where he was a faithful member of the Gamecock Club for 51 years. He was a part of the “greatest generation” serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII in Saipan and Guam. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Floyd M. and Lou Ellen Kilgore; sister, Barbara Ann McClain; brothers, Paul Kilgore and Jerry L. Kilgore; and a son, Greg C. Kilgore. Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Anna J. (“AJ”) Kilgore; sons, Jack L. Kilgore, Jr. and Patrick M. Kilgore, both of Columbia and Glen P. Kilgore (Kathy) of Beaufort; three grandchildren, Rebecca Kilgore, Katy Lynn Kilgore and Glen P. Kilgore, Jr.; and his special new best friend, two year old great-grandson, Turner Kilgore Ryan.
