COLUMBIA Funeral service for James Edward Neeley, 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at Capital City Baptist Church, with burial in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mr. Neeley died Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late James Claytor and Susie Elizabeth Blizzard Neeley. A U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean War. He retired from Richland School District # 1. He was a member of Capital City Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and train collector. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sue Hinerman Neeley; Mark Edward Neeley (Lisa) of Swansea; daughter, Cynthia Sue Bowers (Mike) of Camden; one grandchild, Heather Neeley of Gaston; brothers, Glenn Neeley (Jeanette) and Ted Neeley (Maida Sue), both of West Columbia. He was predeceased by a son, Ricky Neeley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capital City Baptist Church, Teen Mission Trip, 2243 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
