She was a past president of the Lindenwood Garden Club, longest serving member of the Woman's Club of Columbia, and the Belles Letters Book Club. She was a longtime member of Spring Valley Country Club.
She enjoyed RVing with her family and friends to Gamecock football games for 37 years. They retired together to Garden City Beach and spent time together deep sea fishing and cruising around Murrells Inlet.

Alvin, my sincere sympathy for the loss of your beloved mother. It is always so painful to suffer the loss of one's mother. It was my honor to enjoy a life long friendship and professional relationship with she and your dad. Jan was truly a servant and friend to all who knew her. She is now at peace with her LORD, and with her beloved Alvin.
GOD grant you and the family HIS PEACE.
