

COLUMBIA - Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffery Fuller Morrell, 56, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mr. Morrell died Sunday, April 24, 2016. Born in Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Fuller Morrell and Dawn Rose Miller Morrell. Jeff retired after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant and worked as a Tech 3 for CSC at McEntire JNGB. He was an avid reader and a walking book of knowledge. His passions were dirt track racing, primarily sprints and midgets, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Atlanta Braves and he was looking forward to attending games as being a season ticket holder for the Columbia Fireflies Baseball Team. His most enjoyable moments were family events with all the grandchildren. Other special moments included being at a race with special friends, talking with the drivers and sharing his many years of racing experiences with Old Timers. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his wife, Ina J. Morrell, of Columbia; children, Allison Morrell Compton (Benny) of Sumter, Michael McHenry (Michele) of Rock Hill, Melissa Donofrio (Ryan) of Morgantown, WV and Matthew McHenry (Ashley) of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gardenour, Ryan Statham, Abbie McHenry, Catherine Compton, Sophia Compton and Mason McHenry; brothers, James K. Morrell of White, Ga., and Robert Morrell of Tifton, Ga.; nephew, R. J. Morrell of Brunswick, Ga.; and a very special stepmother, Betty P. Morrell of Tifton, Ga. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Fuller Morrell and maternal grandparents, Bill and Louise Pilcher.
