While I did not know John personally, I still would like to send my condolences to the family as I went to school with his sister Sharon and she was always friendly and caring to me during that time. As such, I can’t imagine that he did not share the same traits as a person. My thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time. God bless!

May God's peace help you through this difficult time. I met John over 30 years ago. He was a nice man and loved deeply. He recognized my voice again nearly 20 years ago and we were able to pick back up where we left off. In this time of loss may memories carry us though and prayers keep us uplifted.

I went to St.Peters Catholic School from 1970-1979 with his sister Sharon. I remember so many fun times at their house on Craig Rd 😊 I’m so sorry to hear of John passing 😢 Prayers for your family during this difficult time 🙏🏻

I am so very sorry to learn of John’s passing. I sometimes served as an altar boy at Saint Peters with his brother, Claud. The entire Murphy family was always so kind and welcoming, even visited their home a few times as a kid. Eternal peace, John. May God’s blessing and grace be with the Murphy family during this most difficult time.

John Patrick was a kind, tender-hearted person whom I was always happy to see. And, he always left me feeling he was happy to see me. I will miss him. My heart goes out to the family during this sad, difficult time.

John had so many wonderful traits that most did not get to see, one of the things I loved the most about him was his sense of humor. He had the sweetest pup named Whiteout, it was very rare that you saw him without Whiteout, they truly had a unique relationship, sometimes when he was leaving his apartment, he would say ”Whiteout we are never coming back.” but would have to go back and tell him that he was just kidding. John very rarely past a homeless person without giving them his last dime. He loved and respected his father more than anyone ever realized, even though his actions may have reflected differently and as he got older his love and respect just grew larger. He would light up (back in the days of landlines) when his dad would call to see if he wanted to go eat or to deliver something he had repaired to Gods House or to just run errands and later he would go in great detail about their day! RIP, John, you had no idea how many people held a special place in their heart for you and are so sad about your parting but also so grateful that you are at peace now! ♥️
