A graveside service to celebrate the life of Joyce Eleazer Brown, age 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Northeast Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with a visitation in the church atrium until 11:30 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Columbia Presbyterian Communities, 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC 29073. A designation for Jasmine Place is suggested.
Joyce died on august 29th, 2026. She was the daughter of Irvin Leroy Eleazer, Sr. and Lula Mae DeHihns Eleazer. She was a charter member of Northeast Presbyterian Church.
Joyce is survived by her four sons and their families, David and Karen Brown of Columbia, SC; Daniel and Debbie Brown of Roscommon, MI; Kenneth Brown of Martinez, GA and Tim and Missy Brown of Ponte Vedra, FL. She is survived by five grandchildren, Lynn Springer (David), Robert Brown (Cady), Julia Suarez (Nolan), Lindsay Brown, and Michael Brown; and four greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Wingard Eleazer of Orange Beach, AL.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, David Lester Brown, Jr. and her brother, Irvin (Pete) Eleazer, Jr.
The family expresses a special thank you to The Columbia Presbyterian Community, especially the staff and residents of Assisted Living, Jasmine Place, short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing. They are also thankful for the loving care and friendship of Elsie Friday, as well as the staff of 7th floor South at Lexington Medical Center.
The family encourages casual dress for the graveside service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
