

COLUMBIA Karley Judith Epps, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1979, in Starkville, Mississippi. She is survived by her parents, Mary Barbara Ruschkofski and husband, Jerry of Chapin, S.C; and James William Epps and wife, Nellie of Tupelo, MS. Her siblings are Corey Epps and wife, Michelle of Memphis, TN; and John Kleckley and wife, Joanna of Columbia, S.C.; bonus sisters, Dorie Mothershed and husband, Matt of Mooresville, N.C. and Amy Ruschkofski of John’s Island, S.C. Karley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Karl and Barbara Shealy and William and Evelyn Epps; her stepfather, Tom Kleckley; her stepbrother, Harold Kleckley; her aunt, Deidre Kleckley; and her uncle, Karl Shealy, Jr. Karley’s uncles and aunts are Susan Shealy of Blythewood, S.C.; Les and Kay Shealy of Irmo, S.C.; and Phil and Judy Epps of Prosperity, S.C. Nieces and nephews are Athena Kleckley and wife, Hanna; Harper Epps; Laurin Mothershed; and Matthew Mothershed. Karley also has many cousins who loved and cherished her.
From the moment of her birth, Karley faced challenges with courage and strength that inspired everyone around her. Despite her disabilities, she had an infectious smile and a gentle soul, which touched the hearts of all who knew her.
She was a resident of Midlands Center in Columbia where her caregivers were part of her extended family, offering her compassion, understanding, and dedicated care. They, alongside her family, ensured that she lived a life filled with dignity, joy, and contentment.
Her family visited her often, surrounding her with the same love and care that filled their home. They shared countless moments of happiness, creating memories that will forever be etched in their hearts. The bond they shared was unbreakable, a testament to their enduring love and devotion.
Though she has left this world, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She is now at peace, free from the limitations of her earthly body, embraced by the love of her Savior.
Visitation for Karley will be on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia, SC. Please enter through the main church entrance on Blanding Street where visitation will be in the sanctuary along with the service.
