Konstantin Nicholai Aginskiy - known affectionately by friends and family as Kostya, and known even more intimately still as BHB - left this world peacefully (if not kind of rudely early) on January 30th, 2026 at 2:40 pm, surrounded by his family. He died as he lived: busy with a project and absolutely convinced he still had time to finish it.
Kostya is survived by his mother Larisa; his brother Anatoly; his wife Nadia; his children Artem, Zlata, Justin, Alyx, Vlad, and Leah; and his grandchildren Ayden, Sarah, Oliver, and Sophia. He is remembered for his enormous generosity, his unforgettable laugh (you usually heard it before you saw him), and his truly impressive - sometimes disgusting - repertoire of jokes, which he told with perfect timing and zero shame.
A brilliant engineer and an even better grandfather, Kostya had a gift for making people feel loved, teased, and included all at once.
If there was a breeze, a view of the water, and family nearby, Kostya was exactly where he wanted to be.
He will be missed beyond words, but he would probably prefer that we remember him smiling, laughing, and telling one last joke.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
