
COLUMBIA - Kyoko Ohinata Bowes passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Toyoji and Toki Ohinata of Akita, Japan. She was the wife of the late William Charles Bowes of Columbia. Mrs. Bowes loved her family, gardening, watching the Gamecocks on television as well as her beloved Atlanta Braves. She is survived by her sons, Steven and Walter, both of Columbia and daughters, Anna Peake (Stanley) of Germantown, Tennessee and Carol Bell (Harry, Jr.) of Columbia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick Peake (Liz) of Blythewood, Kristen Schmidt (David) of Bartlett, Tennessee, Katelyn Saucier (Joe) of Charleston, S.C., Shelby Hagood and Emma Bowes, both of Columbia, as well as great-grandchildren, Chris, Evie and Patrick Gavin Peake of Blythewood. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Maximilian David Schmidt of Bartlett, Tennessee. Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 10 to 12 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park at 1 p.m. The family will be at the home of Carol and Harry Bell, 2216 Montclair Drive, Columbia, SC 29206.
