Laurie Allison Fraylick Barnhill passed away on December 27, 2023. She was born August 14, 1982 in Lexington, South Carolina to Kerry and Cheryl Fraylick. A devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend, Laurie touched countless lives during an illustrious 18-year-long career at the University of South Carolina. She served in roles ranging from print publications designer to, most recently, Senior Associate Director of Digital Strategy where she oversaw development of the university’s website.
Surviving are her best friend and husband of seventeen years, Jordan Barnhill and their two children, Ellie and Jake, her loving father and mother, Kerry and Cheryl Fraylick and father and mother-in-law Ken and Sherry Barnhill. She is also survived by her two chosen sisters, Dana Woodward and CJ Tamasco affectionately known as “Lunch Club.”
Laurie gleaned joy from many things including summer vacations at Surfside Beach, Chris Stapleton and Taylor Swift, Sonic Cokes and family rides in the Jeep with the top down, the sun on her face and the wind in her hair.
Ever the creative spirit, she was happiest when she was able to fill the lives of the people she loved with beauty.
Laurie was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a beloved relative and a kindhearted friend. Her warmth and kindness along with so much more will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and legacy in a memorial service taking place at 1 p.m Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home on Devine Street in Columbia. Visitation to follow.
