

COLUMBIA - Lillian Elizabeth Thompkins Morris, 91, wife of the late Vernon C. Morris, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital, surrounded by her family. Lillian was born in Conway on July 7, 1925 to the late Gabriel Patrick and Rosa Lee Thompkins. She attended Green Sea High School in Green Sea, S.C. She loved to work in her yard transplanting trees, shrubs and flowers, and growing flowers. She was baptized into the truth on June 1, 1964. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Forest Drive Location. Surviving are her sisters, Eula May Blanton of Conway and Magdolene Jordan of Marion; brother-in-law, James Dale McCarty of West Columbia; sons, Vernon W. Morris (Sarah) of Lexington, Billy E. Morris (Dee) of Lexington, Donald C. Morris (Vada) of Camden; daughters, Susan D. Pritchard of the home and Carolyn Morris of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren, Wayne Morris (Kim), Barry Lambert, Angie Williamson, Robert Gene Liverman, Ann Jones, Michael Morris, Ashely Mattox, and Tyler Morris; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel Morris, Rebecca Morris, Brandon Lambert, Cody Lambert, Scott Watts, Michelle Liverman, Bryce Morris, and Landon Jacobs; as well as a host of nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her longtime friend and neighbor, Ruth Veronee. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mack Thompkins, Gabriel Patrick Thompkins, Jr., Lonnie Thompkins, Clifton King, and Walter King; sisters, Ethel Jackson, Olivia Coberly, Doris Rouse, Beulah Romedy, and Rosa Lee McCarty. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
